Enriched air is the single best upgrade most divers can make. Because nitrox holds less nitrogen than normal air, your body absorbs it more slowly — so you get longer no-decompression limits, longer dives and shorter surface intervals. On a multi-dive day in Boracay that can mean an extra dive, or simply more time with the turtles. Get certified in as little as a day, then breathe nitrox on every dive for life.
Enriched air — also called nitrox or EANx — is breathing gas with less nitrogen and more oxygen than the air around you. Nitrogen is the gas that limits how long you can stay down, so breathing less of it lets you safely extend your no-decompression limits.
The result is longer dives and shorter surface intervals — which is exactly why Enriched Air Diver is the most popular PADI specialty in the world. On this course you'll learn how to analyse a nitrox tank, fill out an enriched air log and set your dive computer for nitrox, then put it to work over two relaxed dives. Most divers finish in a single day.
If you're 12 or older and hold a PADI Open Water certification (or qualifying cert), you can enrol. Do the theory online before you arrive, then knock out the practical and two dives in a single relaxed day with your instructor.
