Boracay's biggest wreck advantage

Two wrecks — and we take you inside.

Most dive centres take you around a wreck. We take you inside. Boracay is one of the few dive destinations in the world with two completely different wrecks — the Tribird plane and the Camia II ship — close enough to dive on the same course. You train on real structures, not simulations, and experience two very different environments: the intimate fuselage of an aircraft and the holds and cabins of a ship. Responsible, methodical, and genuinely memorable.

About the course

Windows to the past — and the skills to explore them right.

Whether purpose-sunk as an artificial reef or lost to an accident, wrecks are fascinating windows to the past. Ships and aircraft teem with aquatic life and every dive is a chance for discovery. The PADI Wreck Diver Specialty is one of the most popular specialties precisely because it pairs that adventure with responsible wreck-diving practice.

At New Wave Divers you train on two contrasting wrecks — the Tribird plane and the Camia II ship. You'll survey and map each wreck, practise special finning techniques to avoid stirring up silt, and learn to use penetration lines and reels to venture safely inside.

How it works

Become a Wreck
Diver in two steps.

If you're 15 or older and hold a PADI Advanced Open Water certification (or qualifying cert), you can enrol. Do the theory online before you arrive, then spend your time where it matters — on the wrecks with your instructor.

Complete the independent study online, whenever and wherever suits you. Learn about the different types of wrecks, common wreck-diving hazards and responsible-diving practice. Work at your own pace on any device, and message your instructor any time you have a question.

Four dives with your instructor

Across four dives over two days: Day 1 you dive both wrecks from the outside — surveying, mapping and practising finning techniques. Day 2 you go back inside each one, laying lines and exploring holds and cabins with your instructor. Each dive builds on the last.

Plane wreck

Tribird

A small aircraft resting on the seabed — broken open, easy to read and bright with reef life. The perfect first wreck to learn on.

  2. Dive 3PenetrationEase inside the fuselage with your guide line laid behind you — the Tribird is intimate, with light filtering through its openings. Move carefully to stay clear of the structure and keep the visibility clean as you work your way through.Day 2
Ship wreck

Camia II

A larger cargo ship sunk as an artificial reef — upright, atmospheric and full of character. A proper ship to put your new skills to the test.

  2. Dive 4Penetration — engine room & captain's cabinThe engine room glows with ambient light and crowds of nocturnal fish; the captain's cabin is a perfect place to practise buoyancy in tight quarters. Lay your line, explore both spaces and follow it back out.Day 2

Day 1 is exploration. Day 2 is penetration. On Day 1 you dive both wrecks from the outside — learning each layout, mapping the structures and getting comfortable. On Day 2 you return to go inside each one with lines and torches. Always planned, lined and led by your instructor, with clear limits and a safe exit.
