Tribird

Tribird is a plane wreck, sunk in 2012 in the middle of a living reef system at 25–31 m. It is a genuinely unusual dive for Boracay — a compact, recognisable aircraft you can fly through, set into reef rather than dropped onto bare sand, so the wreck and the reef work as a single site.

The fuselage has been colonised properly. Our logs from Tribird are led by nudibranchs and scorpionfish, with mantis shrimp, pipefish, moray eels, crabs, batfish, trevally and green turtles all recorded. Coral reef snakes live in the structure, and cleaner shrimp will work on your hands if you hold still for them. It is a photographer's site as much as a wreck diver's one.

At 25–31 m Tribird needs Advanced Open Water as a minimum, and it makes an excellent second wreck alongside the Camia for the Wreck Diver course or a Deep Diver dive.
