The dive
Diving Punta Bunga
Punta Bunga sits immediately beside Yapak 1 on Boracay's north-west corner, and it makes an excellent second deep dive on the same boat trip. Instead of a sheer wall, this is a biodiverse slope broken up by ledges and cubbyholes — structure that holds life rather than the open-blue drama of its neighbour.
Look into the recesses for triggerfish, lionfish, groupers and moray eels. Reef sharks and stingrays appear reliably around the 32–35 m mark, and our logs from here also record tuna, whitetip sharks, blue-spotted stingrays, eagle rays, marble rays, octopus and the occasional green turtle.
Because the good stuff sits deep, Punta Bunga rewards divers who can hold a relaxed profile and watch their gas. It pairs naturally with Deep Diver and Advanced Open Water training, and Nitrox meaningfully extends your time in the productive 30 m band.
