Lobster Rock

Lobster Rock is a rocky site off White Beach, named — accurately — for its spiny lobster population. Lobsters are the most-recorded animal in our logs from this site by a clear margin, tucked into the gaps between boulders. It is a site that rewards patience over distance: slow down, look into the cracks, and let your eyes adjust.

Beyond the lobsters, our logs record nudibranchs, pufferfish, anemonefish, trumpetfish, shrimp and crabs, with fusiliers passing over the structure and lionfish holding position against it. Green and hawksbill turtles are recorded here too. Masked puffers and schooling bannerfish are part of the regular cast.

At 12–20 m with straightforward conditions and a ten-minute boat ride, Lobster Rock suits Open Water divers comfortably and makes a good macro-focused fun dive or Advanced Open Water training site.
