Diving Diniwid

Diniwid is our house reef and the single most-logged site in this guide. It sits in a sheltered bay beneath Boracay's north-west cliffs, just eight minutes from the dive centre, with a reef sloping gently from 8 m to 18 m and an outer section reachable at up to 26 m when conditions and certification allow.

The reason we keep coming back is that Diniwid genuinely surprises. Green and hawksbill turtles are the headline — turtles appear in our logs here more than at any other site, often resting under ledges — and around them we record frogfish, ghost pipefish, nudibranchs, moray eels, anemonefish, fusiliers, snapper, blue-spotted stingrays and sea snakes. It is as strong a macro site as it is a turtle site.

The shelter, the short boat ride and the gentle profile make Diniwid our default choice for Discover Scuba Diving, Discover Freediving and Open Water training — and the depth on the outer reef means certified divers on the same boat still get a proper dive.
