Angol Point

Angol Point sits at the southern tip of Boracay's White Beach coast. Along with Yapak at the northern end, it is one of the furthest sites on the White Beach run — around 10 to 15 minutes by boat — so it is a deliberate trip rather than a quick hop. (The east-side reefs like Laguna, Tambisaan and Crocodile Island are a separate run again.)

What you get for the ride is calm water and a reef that runs from about 5 m down to 20 m, which lets beginners stay shallow while certified divers on the same boat drop down the slope. It is also a far better macro site than its training-reef reputation suggests: frogfish lead our logs here, followed by nudibranchs, crabs, shrimp, mantis shrimp, moray eels, lobsters, squid, anemonefish and scorpionfish, among stony corals, leather corals, anemones and sea stars.

The shelter and the shallow 5 m section make Angol Point a strong choice for Discover Scuba Diving and Open Water training dives, and a genuinely good slow, close-focus fun dive for anyone who likes small things.
