Very friendly and attentive staff. My son's (12yrs old) first scuba dive in the Philippines and it's in Boracay with New wave Divers. We'll def. come back again one day!
been looking for freediving fundives to book in Boracay, but haven't been able to be at peace with the ones I have inquired to since I haven't been able to try them yet & as a nervous newbie, it was partially scary for me to attempt freediving in open water for the first time, entrusting my life with someone I barely know. However, the day before my arrival in Boracay, I found out that Freedive Pinas had just recently partnered with New Wave Divers for their expansion to Boracay!
i have been training for freediving in Manila with the amazing instructors from Freedive Pinas & have been able to work with a few of their coaches whom are all so kind, and great in their field so I know I'm in good hands. I instantly booked a schedule, and had Coach Sheryn as my guide, safety officer, instructor and videographer/photographer for the day, who is just as kind & professional as my previous coaches from Freedive Pinas.
Everyone at New Wave Divers were all so friendly & kind as well; from the staff at the reception, instructors, up until the boatmen. Whenever my eyes would land on anyone, they would always be ready to face me with a smile despite the scorching heat. Would definitely be scheduling more fundives with them in the future whenever i go back to Boracay. 🤍

There is a reason New Wave Divers has a 4.9 rating and it's their consistency in providing excellent service with an amazing and fun team on top of it all.
I came there with no diving experience and completed my PADI open water in 2 days and managed one of my advanced dives (ship wreck down to 28m) for my advanced PADI (day 3). (unfortunately due to my flight times I was not able to complete this). Through the whole process the team were super supportive; from the girls at the desk through to the dive teams and boat crews.
What I loved the most was how great the communication was - it was clear to me at all steps what was required, what is best practice (for when I dive in the future at other dive shops) and they put SAFETY FIRST! No diving until you finish section 1-3 of the online e-learnings (amazing because you should know the basics of diving before getting in the water).
I had spoken to some other dive shops and they just didn't communicate the process clearly to me, or the safety standards seemed to not be up to scratch; although this cost a tiny bit more it's definitely worth it when you're going underwater!
I had Pancho as my instructor and he's been diving here since the late 1990s and you can feel his experience when you're down in the water - he made me feel comfortable and safe the way only someone with that kind of experience can! Also when back on shore between dives it's such a nice atmosphere in the shop, speaking with other diving instructors and other people who are diving - this comes because of the people that work there!
I will be coming back to complete my advanced diving course here - and would highly recommend that if you're in Boracay (new to diving or experienced) DEFINITELY COME HERE - YOU WONT REGRET IT!

I've dove with this shop during my previous visits in Boracay, and if there is one consistent thing I've experienced while diving with them, it is this: they really care about their divers' safety.
From making sure you are compliant with PADI guidelines and to having divemasters make sure you are well and fit to complete the dive - you won't be disappointed. They also take a picture of the group on the boat prior to the dive to make sure no is left behind.
Guillaume and Marta were wonderful dive masters and made sure we had all our gear and had a safe and fun dive. And the other divemasters and shop personnel were very friendly and accommodating too. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the island.

We have dived with many dive schools in Asia and would vouch that New Wave Divers Boracay is the Best we have experienced. Not only are they Top Notch Professionals offering the safest diving and courses, the team consists of a beautiful collection of hospitable and super friendly crew! From Hesitation to Certification in 3 days.
What started as a simple gut feeling/wondering if we (I) should dive into the underwater world, turned into one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. In just three days, we went from curious beginners to certified divers, completing four unforgettable dives along the way.
From the moment we walked into the dive shop, I felt completely welcomed and taken care of. The entire team was not only highly professional but also genuinely friendly and supportive, especially when I looked a little hesitant.
Our instructor, Paulo (5+ star to him) (from New Wave Divers in Brocay, Philippines), was phenomenal. Patient, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about diving, he made sure we felt confident and safe at every step. You could see that not just Paulo, but everyone on the team, truly loved what they do and that made all the difference.
As for the dives themselves, absolutely breathtaking. We started with two 12m dives and then progressed to two 18m dives. The visibility was clear, the marine life was vibrant (3 separate dive sites) and there were even a few unexpected surprises (in the best way! Which added to the experience). It genuinely felt like being in another world.
The shop is highly recommended, the instructors are highly recommended. So much so that we’d be seeing them again.

My friend and I had a wonderful experience at this dive shop! She was doing her OW and I was diving for the first time after a 1 year break. The teaching conditions are fantastic as they privilege small classes and allow for e-learning before arriving.
We even got to do an adventure dive together after her certification to the impressive Camia 2 site.
Their instructors are too notch! Guillaume and Melchior made us feel safe and excited at every step of the process, and guided my friend to completion in a breeze.
You can tell they care about their materials, staff, and most importantly safety. The shop's atmosphere is also very chill and welcoming.

As of early May 2024, the OW costs PHP27.000, the a fun dive PHP2.200 and an adventure dive (outside of your current certifications) or discovery dive PHP3.600. They may not be the cheapest on the island but you won't regret choosing them.

Today's dive was my first one. I'm forever thankful to the guide master and my diving instructor and to the rest of the staff.
My nerves got me during the actual dive, but thankfully, my dive buddy/dive instructor managed to calm me down and helped me get my focus back.

This was my 4th Scuba dive around the world and NEW WAVE was a perfect choice for this. Mike my instructor was amazing from beginning to end. In briefing, practice session and during the dive. He took very good care and was very patient. All the staff here is very helpful and friendly , loved the way they treated everyone and answered all the queries.

One of my most beautiful experience in Boracay. It was my very first time diving and never thought I'd have the chance. I was a nervous wreck but thanks to the incredible support of my instructor and all of the staff/instructors/assistant, I had an amazing experience and did it again the 2nd time. I would've done it the 3rd if I had the time! Thank you New Wave Divers, will be back soonest I can. Will never forget!
Did my AOW with Gerald and New Wave divers and another adventure dive a few days later and it’s hands down the best diving experience I’ve had so far. Very comfortable and new equipment, great service and info ahead of time via WhatsApp, friendly and knowledgeable staff all around, good dive sites and briefings. Couldn’t be happier to have researched a lot of different places across the island and picked this one. Shoutout to the team - they’re doing great and take good care of the divers, environment and equipment!

Having dived all over the world and different places in the Philippines, I was not expecting much interesting, but the coral was beautiful, and there were some great schools of sardines and some interesting sea snakes and eels and stingrays and turtles A really nice Dive thank you Pancho and team!

Instructors and staff were very accommodating with all our queries/questions. The Dive Instructors were also really hands-on with teaching the basics of Diving while also making sure you have fun! 100% will recommend this Dive Shop. I had my refresher course and my 14 year old son got his Junior Open Water certification from New Wave Divers and the whole experience was absolutely smashing! Julia who was our instructor was extraordinarily knowledgeable, thorough and over-all just wonderful! I can’t recommend her and NWD enough! Will certainly be back for more!
I am absolutely thrilled with my recent dive experience! After a 15-year hiatus, Julia's refresher course not only reignited my passion for diving but also provided valuable insights. Her approach made the refresher fun, turning what could have been a routine course into a memorable and enjoyable experience. Grateful for the renewed love for the underwater world! In addition to Julia's fantastic guidance, the rest of the staff were incredibly lovely and helpful. Their friendliness and support added to the overall positive atmosphere, making the entire diving experience even more enjoyable.
I recently had the pleasure of taking my two children to New Wave Divers for their diving certification, and I must say, it was an amazing experience! Our instructor, Julia, was simply outstanding. My son, who is 13 and has always been fascinated with diving, thoroughly enjoyed his lessons. My daughter, who is 10 and was a bit more anxious about diving, was initially hesitant, but Julia went above and beyond to make her feel safe and comfortable. Now, my daughter loves diving just as much as my son does!
But it wasn't just Julia who made our experience so great. All the other staff members, including Marge, Gulierm, and Joanne, were super nice and welcoming. They helped us with everything we needed and made us feel right at home.

Marge the manager was responsive and helped us with all the queries and arrangement before we arrived on the island, we feel very well informed.

What a truly delightful Dive Centre. Friendly, knowledgeable, understanding. I was guided calmly through all safety requirements, and encouraged to make the most of my time in the water. Luca made sure we fulfilled all the exercises in a non-threatening but assured manner. For the short time I was there I was made to feel welcome as a member of their professional family. I will definitely visit again when I look for further certification, and recommend the team wholeheartedly.

Highly recommend New Wave Divers. They did a bubble maker dive with my 10 year old niece. The dive master was soooo nice and knowledgeable. The shop is very organized and even has nice coffee to serve you! My niece felt safe and enjoyed learning what scuba was like. Her 11 yr old friend dived as well and they were great with both kids. I’ll try them next time for a boat dive!

After doing some research and reading the reviews we decided to use New Wave for a few fun dives.
The very friendly Marge helped us sort everything out, from airport transfers to organising all our dives. She made our transfers and diving experience very smooth and stress-free.
A couple of us were there to do a few fun dives which were all incredible. The kit was all brand new and we all felt very safe and looked after the whole time.
A member of our group was there to complete his advanced open water and the training given looked amazing. The fantastic instructor Patrice really took his time and explained everything very well.
I couldn't recommend New Wave and Patrice enough! I wouldn't bother looking anywhere else!
I would recommend popping your head in the dive shop the day before if you have a dive site in mind. They might be able to move things around.
The very friendly Marge helped us sort everything out, from airport transfers to organising all our dives. She made our transfers and diving experience very smooth and stress-free.
A couple of us were there to do a few fun dives which were all incredible. The kit was all brand new and we all felt very safe and looked after the whole time.
